The football team at the local high school was doing a fundraiser to raise money for a tournament. They sold chocolate chip and oatmeal raisin cookies. The amount of oatmeal raisin cookies they sold was 10 less than 4 times the amount of chocolate chip cookies. If they sold 525 cookies how many of each type did they sell? Answer:

412 Oatmeal Raisin and 103 Chocolate Chip

Explanation:

This can be solved using a system of equations. The two equations are C (chocolate) + O (oatmeal raisin) = 525 and the equation 4C+10=O. Then solving using elimination for systems of equation you can calculate that C=103, then plugging this number into one of the original equation you can calculate that O = 412.
