Why do you think poor southern whites supported slavery when it did not benefit most of them?

since there were enslaved people, they were 1) not the bottom class and 2) it meant that they were not enslaved. they were not forced to work for the richer white people because there were enslaved people

I think it is very possible that some black people could have been more wealthy than the poor southern whites and they wanted revenge because they supported the idea that whites are more superior than blacks (which, by the way, I do not)
