Why are plants, but not animals, thought to be an important factor in classifying a land biome?

Explanation: Because the biome must support the plant since the grow a plant you must have good temperature the constant rainfall and the soil, that is why plants are the most important factor since its chooses what plant can survive in that biome.

becuase plants make up surrounding areas, if you see no plants and soil with no fertilization from plants it is most likely a desert, and a place with tall and thick plants is most likely a forest
