The warfare was finalized with the emphasized downfall of the Pequot. Eventually, approximately 700 Pequots were slaughtered or taken into imprisonment. Hundreds of internees were sold into slavery to colonists in Bermuda or the West Indies; additional survivors were distributed as prisoners to the victorious tribes.
