Answer:

an abrasion is causes by skin contact with a rough or sharp surface. when forceful contact is made (with surfaces like concrete or gravel), the skin tears away.

Explantion:

Ex. When you fall on the ground outside on the asphalt or rocks, you can sometimes "scrape" your knee. this is called abrasion.
