Why nylon is perferred for making cloths instead of silk?​

Nylon was a conceived as a replacement for silk, which was expensive. Silk prices were unstable and had to rely exclusively on the cultivation of a live animal — the silk worm. As a material nylon has transformed our lives. It is lightweight, easily-manufactured and mostly inexpensive.

nylon has some of the look and feel of silk. nylon fibres r durable fairly elastic ,light weight and absorb very little water so clothes made of nylon r easy to wash and dry
