21x/2=2x+1
multiply both sides by 2
21x/2 · 2=2x·2+1·2
simplify
21x=4x+2
subtract 4x from both sides
21x- 4x=(4x)+2-(4x)
divide both sides by 17
17x=2
17 17
simplify
x=2/17
