Willy Wonka has x chocolate bars in his factory. He gives one third of the chocolate bars to Charlie, and eats one half of the remaining chocolate bars. If he is left with 90 chocolate bars in the factory, what is the value of x?

Answer: The value of x= 270

Explanation:

Given: Willy Wonka has x chocolate bars in his factory.

Chocolates he gave =
\frac13 x

Remaining chocolates =
x-(x)/(3)=(2x)/(3)

Half of the remaining chocolate bars =
\frac12*(2x)/(3)=(x)/(3)

Now , Chocolate left
x-(x)/(3)-(x)/(3)=(3x-2x)/(3)=(x)/(3)

As per given ,
\frac x3=90


\Rightarrow\ x=90*3=270

Hence, the value of x= 270
