PLEASE HELP! Election question- When a candidate reaches 270 electoral votes do the states keep counting electoral votes or do they stop?

They actually continue to count to find the popular vote and to see the margin which the candidate won by. Also, the president isn’t the only thing on an election ballot there are local offices on it as well that need to be accounted for.

Answer:

I believe they stop counting.

Step-by-step explanation:

If the winner has already been determined, there is no need to waste time and energy counting.

Hope I helped!
