The sum of the measures of the angles in a triangle is 180º

∠1 is in a triangle whose other two angles are marked.

The sum of the measures of those two marked angles is 53º+90º=143º.

The measure of ∠1 is 180º-143º=37º

The angle measureing 53º and ∠2 are supplementary (adding up to 180º)

The measure of ∠2=180º-53º=127º.
