5. If a human blood cell is placed in pure water, it will eventually rupture and go through

lysis. Why would an onion cell not rupture when placed in pure water?

The cell wall is very strong which is the main reason why it won’t occur. Red blood cells or other animal cells do not possess the strong cell wall meaning it will swell and burst..
