Pathogenesis of tuberculosis. TB pathogenesis can be divided in four well-defined events. Inhalation of the mycobacteria is followed by its interaction with resident macrophages through cellular receptors and its internalization. Macrophage bactericidal mechanisms are then activated, including RNI and ROI generation
