Is it mostly a good or bad thing to have the experiences of losing the innocence of childhood?

It depends how you look at it. It can be bad when you have to grow up and see the world as an adult, as an adult you realize that not everything is fair and the world can be a cruel, awful place. But as an adult you gain more freedom and clear thinking of the world. As a child you think that everything is good and all people are going to be good and that the world is a place full of fair game and happiness. All you have is your innocence and you won’t understand that everything won’t go your way. Personally I would say it’s mostly a bad thing once you lose your childhood innocence and realize what kind of world we live in now but not everything about it is awful.
