Sodium bicarbonate is used to neutralize the remaining HCl at the end of the reaction. The initial products of this reaction are carbonic acid and sodium chloride. Carbonic acid then decomposes into carbon dioxide and water. Write a balanced chemical equation for each of these processes using Lewis structures (no molecular formulas).

Answer:

Kindly check explanation section.

Step-by-step explanation:

Since, the question requires the chemical reaction to be written in lewis for the the processes involved in this particular Question/problem that is to say the neutralization process and the decomposition process. The lewis structure is given in the attached picture.

For the first process; Sodium bicarbonate reacts with HCl to produce the carbonic acid and a salt, known as Sodium chloride.

Na2CO3 + 2HCl ----------> 2NaCl + H2CO3.

The second process shows the decomposition of Carbonic acid into carbon dioxide and water.
