Write a paragraph explaining why the King and Queen were blamed for the (french) revolution even though there was so much more going on.

Basically you would explain how the King and Queen misused their riches while the people of France were in poverty. Because they were the highest level of nobility at the time and they didn’t do everything they could to prevent the poverty they were blamed for the crisis.

In 1789, food shortages and economic crises led to the outbreak of the French Revolution. King Louis and his queen, Mary-Antoinette, were imprisoned in August 1792, and in September the monarchy was abolished. Marie-Antoinette followed him to the guillotine nine months later.
