BMR is a mnimum caloric intake required for basic functions, the higher your metabolic rate, the more you have to eat becuase the more your body is burning through those calories, meanwhile someone with a slow metabolic rate would need to eat less or less often becuase they hang onto stored energy longer while doing the same task someone with a high metabolic rate can do.
