Does (12+6)÷2 and 12+6÷2 have the same answer

Answer:

No, because it has parentheses. You have to do the parentheses first (cause of order of operations) and the divide, (or based on whatever your step is from order of operations) which your going to get a diff answer.

If you go by PEMDAS then you would do whatever is in the parenthesis first, which in this case would be 12 + 6. And then you would divide, so 12 + 6 = 18/2 = 9. In the other equation you would do division first, so that would be 6/2 which equals 3 and then you would add that to 12 which equals 15.
