A cake has 65 slices.

Harry ate 1 slices; Jack ate 19 slices; Dave ate 40 & Mary ate 4 slices.

What fraction of the cake is remaining?

Answer:

(1)/(65)ths of the cake remains

Explanation:

Note: You started with 65 slices.

Find out what remains

65 - 1 - 19 - 40 (Jeez dave) - 4 = 65 - 20 - 44 = 65 - 64 = 1

You find that one slice remains.

Fraction that remains = remaining over original = 1 over 65 =
(1)/(65)

Hope this helps.
