The perenthesis means multiplication so you would first do 2 times three which is 6 and then 6+6=12 and the first expresion is 2(a+3) a=3 to solve that you would do whats in the perenthesis 3+3 which equals 6 and then the 6 in the perenthesis means mulitplication. so then you would do 2 times 6 and get 12. so the 3rd one is the answer.
