It is a autobiographical... It is considered a turning point in American art because it addresses so many important issues in the 1950s.

Answer:

I believe it's because it tells a story about what some people had to face back in the 1950's. Not the whole play is true just like one part is. Something about buy the house is something that happened to the Author of the play. But I believe it's a notable American play because it talks about struggles some people faced back then.
