Some states tend to always be democratic and some states tend to only be republican,
Other states, called swing states change whether they vote republican or democratie.
Why would candidates want to campaign in swing states?

Candidates might want to campaign in swing states so their party could get hold of the state. These states tend to have a large amount of House of Representatives, which can get them to 270.
