Russia is considered to be high in human development, a rating which takes into account such factors as life expectancy, education, and personal income levels. Government-provided health care has led to a fairly high life expectancy of 66 years in the country. However, there is a large difference between the life expectancies of men and women, with women living 13 years longer on average. Russia is known for having a good educational system, and almost all adults are literate. However, the country struggles economically. Russia has a developing economy and lower household incomes than those of Western Europe.

Answer: Standard of living is lower than that of US and European standards but definitely higher than China and most parts of Asia (except Japan and maybe South Korea). However, the # of millionaires per capita in Moscow in St. Petersburg is one of the highest in the world (city comparison). Although individual wealth does not directly translate to higher standard of living.
