Descriptive writing, as one can infer from the name. Is a form of writing used to describe an object, person place or thing. If you are writing in a descriptive manner, try to make the reader visualize, or put a mental picture in their head about what you are describing. Notice the use of many adjectives in the example below.
Example:
The room was eerily quiet and exuded a mysterious aura. The previously cream colored walls had faded into a patchy yellow.
