Explanation:

To find the MAD (Mean Absolute Deviation) you have to add up all the numbers and divide it by the amount of numbers you are being given:


36+42+41+32+30=181

Then divide it by 5 because we added 5 numbers together:


(181)/(5) =36.2

People actually do it like this:


(36+42+41+32+30)/(5) = 181

(Which is the same thing, except it's faster, in my opinion)

Well, now that we have the sum (181) we have to subtract it from all those numbers we were given:


181-36=145, 181-42=139, 181-41=140, 181-32=149, 181-30=151.

Now add up all those numbers together and divide it by 5 again:


(145+139+140+149+151)/(5) =144.8
