Plug in y=3x+2 into the y in the second equation.

x + 2(3x+2) = 11
x + 6x + 4 = 11
7x + 4 = 11
7x = 7
x = 1

then, plug the x value into x in the first equation.

y = 3(1) + 2
y = 3 +2
y = 5
