Assume;

Length = l

Width = b

So,

6l + 9b = 498 feet.......Eq1

Perimeter of rectangular sports court = 142 feet

2l + 2b = 142

l + b = 71

l = 71 - b

From Eq 1

6l + 9b = 498

6[71 - b] + 9b =498

426 - 6b + 9b = 498

b = 24

Width = 24 feet

l + b = 71

l + 24 = 71

l = 47

Length = 47 feet
