Please explain how to solve x/20-6=14

However, do not give me the answer. Please just use different numbers in place of the ones given in the equation. For example, in place of x/20-6=14, you can use x/15-5=17 (or something else if you want to.)

LCM is 20

multiply through out by the LCM

x/20×20 -6×20=14×20

x-120=280

collect the like terms

x=280+120

x=400

2. -7x+60=20

collect the like terms

-7x=20-60

-7x=-40

divide both sides by -7

x=40/7

x=5. 71
