Explanation:

5 = 5^(1/2)

5√5 = [5^1] * [5^(1/2)]

when you multiply you add exponents

5√5 = 5^(1 + 1/2)

but 1 = 2/2

so

5√5 = 5^[(2/2) + (1/2)] = 5^[3/2]
