Explanation:

7x + 10y = 27

x - 10y = -19 +--------------------

8x = 8

Divide by 8 on both sides

x = 1

To find y substitute any of the equations to 1

7(1) + 10y = 27

7 + 10y = 27

Substract 7 from both sides

10y = 20

Divide by 10

y = 2
