To find the range, subtract the smallest from the biggest number.

The outlier is most commonly the biggest or smallest number. Obviously it is 236 in this situation.

To find how much the outlier increases the range, you need to find out the range WITH and WITHOUT the outlier.

Without the outlier: 39

With the outlier: 190

Then you subtract 190 - 39 because you are trying to find out how much MORE RANGE the outlier makes.

The answer is 151.

THEREFORE, The outlier increases the range by 151.
