The democracy in “south Vietnam” was a fake one, created by Americans as a facade to cover their aggression. There was never a State of South Vietnam. People in this part of Vietnam knew it and they expected Vietnam to be reunited and they welcome it.

South VN never fought. 1954— 1973, it was the US fighting North VN and South VN (Vietcong). The Saigon army never really did any real fighting. Why and whom should they have fought?
