He, unlike some corrupt scythes, isn’t fond of killing other people. Out of respect, he attends the funerals just like anyone close to the victim would. As stated within the book, scythes are chosen because of how much they DON’T like murdering. This was a rule set in place as a means to prevent corruption spreading within the Scythedom.
