Tocqueville’s five (5) American Values (Democracy in America) are;

- Liberty

- Egalitarianism

- Individualism

- Populism

- Laissez-faire

LIBERTY means being free from tyranainical/arbitrary control of the government.

EGALITARIANISM means Equalizing everyone in the society, that is,society of equals; there is no permanent class structure in the society.

INDIVIDUALISM means people are free to pursue their Individual goals of interest.

POPULISM means the participation of common people in political life.

LAISSEZ-FAIRE simply means a type of government that distance themselves from the affairs of the masses, and there is a hands-off approach to the economy.
