Why might a child have different nutritional needs than an adult over the age of 60

i would say they same as the " a child's bones and internal systems are still growing and in need of nutrients, mean while a 60 year old doesn't need those basic nutrients as bad any more " as well as elders and babies need more nutrients because their bodies arent as strong as teens and adults even if they are competently healthy
