Pete Fred and Sarah were given £500 to share in the ratio of there ages, Pete is 11 years old, fred is 19 years old and Sarah is 20 years old, how much should they each get?

Answer:

Pete's share: £110

Fred's share: £190

Sarah's share: £200

Explanation:

Add their ages:

11 + 19 + 20 = 50

500 ÷ 50 = £10

Then you times their age with £10 to get how much they all get.

10 x 11 = £110

19 x 10 = £190

20 x 10 = £200
