In an arithmetic sequence a7 −2a4 = 1, a3 = 0. Find the common difference.

a7=0+4d
a4=0+d
(0+4d)-2d=1
2d=1
d=0.5

This is correct cause I did this question too

  • a7= a1+ 6d
  • a4= a1 +3d
  • a7- 2a4= a1+6d- 2a1 - 6d= - a1= 1 ⇒ a1= -1
  • a3= a1+2d= - 1 +2d= 0 ⇒ 2d=1 ⇒ d= 1/2
