Grant and Amy have been friends since they were six. Amy does not talk to him much anymore. She is hanging out with a different crowd of kids who are known for being disrespectful to others and partaking in drugs and alcohol. One day, Grant sees Amy hanging out with another kid; both are smoking a cigarette on school grounds. He approaches Amy and tells her she should put it out before she gets in trouble. The boy she is with tells Grant to mind his own business. He threatens Grant with violence if he tells anyone or talks to Amy again.
