V = 4/3 π r³

then we can compare both of them dirextly

Vs : Vhs

4/3 π r³ : ½ (4/3 π (2r)³)

4/3 π r³ : ½ * 4/3 π 8r³

1 : ½ * 8

1 : 4

Vhs : Vs = 4 : 1

so the volume of hemisphere is 4 times bigger than the sphere.
