Mount Olympus was important in ancient Greece because it was believed to be the home of the gods. From the earliest Greek writings also Mount Olympus is the mythical home of the gods in Greek mythology. According to authors, the mountain was created after the Titanomachy, the epic battle between the young gods, the Olympians and the older gods, the Titans. As a result of this battle, the Olympian victors created their new majestic home – Mount Olympus.
