Parapgraph2: "Now we are engaged in a great civil war, testing whether that nation or any nation can long endure (undergo). We are met on a great battlefield of that war. We have come to dedicate a portion of that field as a final resting place for those who gave their lives that the nation might live. It is altogether fitting and proper that we should do this."

In this paragraph we we’re able to recognize those who died during the war and pay respect for they’re sacrifice

Within this paragraph we are able to see that during the great civil war those who had fallen were given a place on the field. We are also able to see that as a nation we recognise the fallen and pay respect for what they did during the war.
