Generally, hypothyroidism medication affects bowel emptying.Its slows down motility and digestion of foods in the stomach and the intestine. This may lead to constipation,bloating and Reflux.

The Nurse should therefore stipulate that the patients to use laxative, increase water intake, not to take opiods, add a lot fibre to the diet,relaxation techniques should be adopted.
