This is very basic, so it won't take long. First step in any algebraic question is to combine like terms, any term with alike variables or constants. So to begin with we need to combine the constants.
2n+1=7 To combine like terms, we need to move the 1 over to the seven by subtracting on both sides like a mirror.
2n+1-1=7-1
2n=6
Then, since it's 2n we need to divide by two to get n isolated.
2n/2=6/2
n=3
The final answer is n=3.
