Explanation:

Move all terms not containing y to the right side of the equation.

4y=22+6

Then add 22 and 6.

4y=28

Divide each term in 4y=28 by 4

4y÷4=28÷4

Cancel the common factor of 4 in the first part of the equation so it looks like this...

y=28÷4

Divide 28 by 4.

Therefore y=7
