To me, what makes a gift valuable is who and when it’s given. If it’s someone I care about who clearly spent time making or picking it out; to me that’s more valuable. You can tell when someone randomly gets something and doesn’t care if you like it. Also timing is a big thing. If you’re upset or having a difficult time, a small token or gift is just so heartfelt and important. Overall a gift’s value isn’t important cost wise, what matters to me is the emotional importance.
