Explanation:

If you are working with a slope-intercept equation, that is

y = mx + b

Then you want to put the y-intercept on the graph first. It is the b in the equation it is often at the end of the equation. It is the number that is NOT right next to the x.

Then use the slope (the m, that IS right next to the x) to find the next point. Slope is like directions from one point to another.

Then you can draw the line.
