Answer:

It's necessary because kids no matter how young need to know that there are and always will be punishments for their actions. If they don't know that, they will die in the real world. They will get chewed up and spit out like they are nothing and they will never succeed at anything. That's what happens if you don't learn as a kid. You become nothing.
