"New Coasts and Poseidon’s son" is book 9 of "The Odyssey", in that book Odysseus meets King Alcinous and begins to tell him all the adventures he has been going through in his attempt to return home. In this conversation, Odysseus recounts all the obstacles he overcame with courage, bravery and an admirable intellectual capacity.

Odysseus' account shows the characteristics of an epic hero that he possesses, since he tells stories where he positioned himself as a warrior full of virtues such as wisdom, strength, daring, cunning, courage and bravery.
