Explanation:

Since the logarithms have the same base, you can just take the stuff inside the logarithms, and set them equal to each other (only if the logs have the same base).

We get 2-x=-5x-18. Solving, we get 4x=-20, so x=-5

Logarithms cant have nonpositive numbers inside them, so we plug -5 in. we find that log4 (7)= log4 (7) 7 is positive, so our solution works.
