Let's first understand the information the problem gives us

⇒ 6000 nails were done

⇒ 2% of the 6000 nails were faulty

⇒ 2% is equivalent to 2/100

⇒ therefore 2/100 of 6000 nails were faulty

⇒ 2 out of every 100 nails were faulty

⇒ written mathematically

Faulty-nails=(2)/(100)*6000 = 2 * 60 = 120

Thus there were 120 faulty nails

Hope that helped!
