Do you think our Criminal Justice system is more re-integrative or stigmatizing ? Why? Someone help and don’t give a false answer

stigmatizing, we do nothing to prepare them and give them support when they get out, re-offending because they have no support so they go back to what they know, what feels natural and safe. If our system was actually re-integrated, we would not pride ourselves on the harshness of our prisons or court systems instead use that to decide what actually works and give them more resources to access help and then to feel like they have to go back to a life of crime and hopelessness. as a re-integrative system we would want to them to not feel hopeless and feel like their are more options and opportunities in their lives then being in and out of corrections facilities and the court system in general.

definitely stigmatizing! we often embarrass convicted felons: this results in shaming often offenders that will most likely result in them repeating offenses / future crimes.
